The continental body recognized Nigerian legends Rashidi Yekini and Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha, alongside William Troost-Ekong, all former AFCON Most Valuable Players.
A special tribute was paid to the late Stephen Keshi for his unique achievement of winning the AFCON as both a player and a coach.
Keshi captained Nigeria to victory before guiding the Super Eagles to another triumph from the dugout, a feat that secures his place among the tournament’s most revered figures. This acknowledgment highlights his legacy across multiple generations.
The tributes also included French tactician Claude Le Roy, who holds the record for the most AFCON appearances as a coach, having managed several national teams.
