Ruben Amorim rejects Sir Alex Ferguson’s decade-long Man Utd title prediction

Ruben Amorim has publicly disagreed with Sir Alex Ferguson’s prediction that Manchester United may endure an 11-year wait for a league title, asserting his belief that the club will challenge much sooner.

Ruben Amorim has countered Sir Alex Ferguson’s suggestion that Manchester United could face a decade-long wait to reclaim the Premier League title.

Ferguson warned that a cycle of rebuilding, similar to the 30-year drought experienced by Liverpool, could see United struggling for years.

He noted, “It could be 10 years, could be 11 years, because of that cycle. It has to be thought out carefully.”

Responding to these claims ahead of United’s clash with Aston Villa, Amorim expressed respect for the legendary manager’s insight while remaining optimistic about the future.

Despite United currently sitting sixth and enduring a year of inconsistency under his leadership, the head coach dismissed the idea of a prolonged title absence.

“He understands football more than me, especially English football,” Amorim admitted. “I think we are not (going to) take that long to win a league.”

The Portuguese manager remains confident that the club’s recent summer investments will accelerate their recovery, regardless of who leads the team in the future.

While acknowledgment was made regarding the difficulty of the task at Old Trafford, Amorim insisted that the wait for silverware would be shorter than predicted.

He stated, “I truly believe that we can fight for the title in the next years. I think it’s not going to take so many years.”
