Marcus Rashford has publicly declared his intention to remain at Barcelona permanently, as the Catalan club weighs up triggering a £26 million buy option to end his Manchester United career.
Marcus Rashford has officially confirmed his desire to turn his loan move at Barcelona into a permanent transfer.
The 25-year-old Manchester United forward has enjoyed a remarkable revival under Hansi Flick, contributing seven goals and 11 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
Speaking to Sport, Rashford addressed his future directly, stating, “My future? I want to stay at Barca. This is my goal… Barcelona is a huge and wonderful club, built to win titles.”
While Rashford’s form has slowed recently due to the return of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, his versatility remains a key asset for the La Liga leaders.
He has notably excelled as a center-forward during Robert Lewandowski’s absences, scoring three goals in two matches in that role.
Barcelona hold a £26 million option to buy the England international, though club officials have yet to confirm if they will trigger the clause before the summer deadline.
A return to Old Trafford appears increasingly unlikely as Rashford seeks a fresh start away from his boyhood club.
Manchester United are reportedly prepared to sanction the sale, which would provide a significant “pure capital gain” for their own squad rebuilding plans.
Despite brief speculation that new manager Ruben Amorim could integrate him, Rashford remains focused on his Spanish ambitions, adding, “The goal is to win… that’s exactly how I feel right now.”
