Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, speaking to Match of the Day: “I think for one hour, until we conceded, we dominated the game. We were very good. Unfortunately, after that, the dynamic of the game changed a little bit. I think by the time they scored to make it 1-1, we should have scored two or three more.”
Did Villa’s substitutions midway in the second half change the game? “Yeah it changed the dynamic. Again, the first half and the first 15 minutes of the second half we should have scored more goals.”
Did you substitute Cole Palmer due to fitness concerns? “No, I think he was working very hard but he was a bit tired. Overall, he had a good game.”
Did a lack of experience cost Chelsea? “If you analyse the first hour of the game, you are not talking about experience. But after that, we struggled with that. The changes they did – Watkins, Onana and Sancho – improved them a little bit.”
