Rasmus Hojlund’s first-half brace against Cremonense earned high praise from Napoli boss Antonio Conte, who claimed the Manchester United loanee is rapidly evolving into a dominant world-class striker.
Manchester United loanee Rasmus Hojlund closed out 2025 in spectacular fashion, netting both goals in Napoli’s 2-0 victory over Cremonense.
The Danish striker has flourished since returning to Italy, tallying six goals in twelve Serie A appearances and nine across all competitions.
This resurgence follows a difficult stint at Old Trafford where he struggled to adapt to Ruben Amorim’s system, eventually leading to a season-long loan move to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Napoli manager Antonio Conte praised the 22-year-old’s rapid tactical evolution following the win, which kept Napoli just one point behind league leaders AC Milan.
Conte emphasized that the young forward is finally mastering the nuances of his position. “He’s a very young player, first and foremost, and he has a lot of room for improvement,” Conte remarked.
“He’s becoming a dominant player in his position,” the Italian tactician added, highlighting Hojlund’s physical presence.
Conte further noted that Hojlund’s intelligence on the pitch is catching up to his natural athleticism. “He’s starting to understand when to attack space, when to hold the ball, and when to come forward,” Conte explained.
“In my style of football, attackers have a unique role, and he has huge room for improvement.”
While Hojlund’s Manchester United future remains uncertain under Amorim, his dominant performances in Serie A have proven he remains one of Europe’s brightest young talents.
