Enzo Maresca booed as Chelsea’s slump continues in Bournemouth draw

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca was met with boos and chants of derision from his own supporters after a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth extended their poor run of form.

Enzo Maresca faced the wrath of the Stamford Bridge faithful as Chelsea’s dismal run extended to just one win in seven matches following a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

A frantic first half saw David Brooks open the scoring for the visitors before Cole Palmer equalized from the penalty spot.

Enzo Fernandez briefly put the hosts ahead with a spectacular strike, but defensive frailties allowed Justin Kluivert to level the scoring before the interval.

Despite a sensational return from injury for Estevao, Chelsea remained plagued by an inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities and a lack of defensive leadership.

The atmosphere turned toxic in the second half when Maresca opted to substitute the influential Palmer.

The decision sparked a furious reaction from the home crowd, with supporters directed at the dugout shouting, “you don’t know what you’re doing,” as frustration boiled over.

The result leaves Chelsea struggling for identity as the year concludes, with the summer’s heavy transfer business yet to fix the squad’s core issues.

While Fernandez and Estevao both missed late chances to secure a victory, Bournemouth nearly snatched all three points in stoppage time when Enes Unal volleyed over.

The stalemate highlights a deepening crisis for Maresca, who now faces significant pressure to reverse the club’s downward trajectory.
