State-owned lender BRI becomes Barcelona’s official partner in Indonesia

FC Barcelona has signed a two-season deal with Bank Rakyat Indonesia to expand its commercial footprint in Asia and provide exclusive banking perks to its 29 million Indonesian supporters.

FC Barcelona has announced a strategic commercial partnership with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), designating the state-owned lender as the club’s Official Commercial Banking Partner in Indonesia.

The agreement, which runs through December 2027, focuses on consumer banking and payment solutions.

As part of the deal, BRI will launch co-branded debit cards and utilize Barça branding for retail campaigns, leveraging the club’s estimated 29 million fans within the Southeast Asian nation.

The partnership offers extensive fan-facing benefits, including exclusive travel packages to Spain and matchday access at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Customers will also receive preferential offers for club membership and opportunities to visit the Barça Immersive Museum.

Manel del Río, Barcelona’s managing director, emphasized the importance of the region, stating: “Asia Pacific is a strategic region for the Club, where we have a broad global fan base with whom we continuously seek to generate synergies.”

For BRI, the collaboration serves as a tool to drive retail engagement and inspire customer loyalty.

Aquarius Rudianto, BRI’s Director of Network and Retail Funding, noted the potential of the club’s massive Indonesian following to strengthen client relationships.

He remarked: “Through this collaboration with FC Barcelona, we aim to inspire the public to carry the spirit of champions in every financial step they take. Moving forward, BRI will continue to build strategic partnerships.”
