TNT Sports was forced to apologize to viewers after a technical fault caused a total loss of audio during the first half of the Premier League clash between Leeds United and Manchester United.
TNT Sports was forced to issue an immediate apology following a significant technical failure during its live broadcast of the Premier League match between Leeds United and Manchester United.
Approximately 15 minutes into the first half at Elland Road, the television and streaming coverage suffered a total loss of audio.
An on-screen message was quickly displayed to viewers on both the TNT Sports channel and the Discovery Plus streaming platform stating: “We apologise for the loss of sound.”
The audio fault persisted for several minutes before technicians managed to restore the feed to the national audience.
Upon the return of the broadcast, lead commentator Darren Fletcher addressed the situation directly with a personal apology to fans.
Responding to the brief blackout, Fletcher remarked: “So it seems like we’re back. Apologies for that. Can’t wait for the avalanche of positivity on social media…” his comment acknowledging the inevitable online reaction from frustrated supporters.
The broadcast glitch occurred as Leeds United sought a vital home win to build on their recent 0-0 draw against Liverpool.
Manager Daniel Farke navigated the high-stakes fixture with a depleted squad, missing key midfielder Ethan Ampadu through suspension and Jayden Bogle due to injury.
Despite the off-field production issues, the match remained a focal point of the Premier League’s New Year schedule as Leeds fought to maintain their distance from the bottom three.
