Bayern close stand for URSG clash following UEFA ban

FC Bayern will close the entire south stand for their match against Saint-Gilloise after UEFA triggered a partial stadium ban due to the repeated use of pyrotechnics by fans.

FC Bayern Munich has been ordered to partially close the Allianz Arena for their upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on January 21.

The UEFA Disciplinary Committee imposed the sanction, alongside a €50,000 fine, following the repeated use of pyrotechnics in the “Südkurve” (south stand).

The penalty stems from incidents during the home game against Sporting Lisbon on December 9, 2025, triggering a previously suspended sentence.

The partial ban specifically targets sectors 111 to 114, but technical limitations have forced the club to cancel all 9,336 south stand tickets.

Because tickets for blocks 109 to 117 are not allocated by individual block, the club stated it is “technically impossible” to void only the restricted 4,800 seats.

Consequently, all south stand tickets will be cancelled this Friday, and the club will issue full refunds to the affected purchasers.

The club is currently evaluating whether blocks 109 to 110 and 115 to 117 can be put back on sale at a later date.

Fans have been warned that their current south stand tickets will not entitle them to admission for the Saint-Gilloise fixture.

FC Bayern has promised to provide “timely and specific information about the further procedure and organisational details” should any seats in the unaffected sections become available for purchase.
