West Ham United have signaled a willingness to sanction the departure of midfielder Lucas Paqueta to Flamengo, provided the Brazilian side agrees to a £40 million valuation and a clause to loan the 28-year-old back to London Stadium for the remainder of the season.
The wantaway star, who recently refused to feature in an FA Cup fixture against QPR, is viewed as a vital component in the Hammers’ fight for Premier League survival as they sit seven points adrift of safety.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo has urged all parties to find an immediate compromise to the escalating situation, stating: “I think it’s a situation that we have to solve, all of us at the club have to solve.
We always want our best players to be involved and Lucas is one of our best players, so let’s try to solve the situation. It’s a solution that we have to find. Us as a club, the player, myself.”
