Gabriel plays peacemaker as heated exchange erupts between Rice and Arsenal coach

Declan Rice clashed with Arsenal coach, Albert Stuivenberg in the tunnel before the second-half, as the Gunners beat Chelsea. The pair later embraced at full-time, per @MailSport.

A heated confrontation erupted between Declan Rice and Arsenal assistant coach Albert Stuivenberg during the interval of the Gunners’ 3–2 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Footage captured inside the tunnel shows the England international visibly frustrated, beginning the exchange by telling the coach to “just go.”

As the tension escalated, defender Gabriel Magalhães was forced to intervene as a mediator, repeatedly urging Stuivenberg to “stop, please stop, please stop” in an attempt to de-escalate the brewing conflict before the players returned to the pitch.

The disagreement continued to simmer despite Gabriel’s efforts to act as a buffer between the player and the coaching staff.

Following an exasperated outburst of “oh for f*’s sake,”** Rice was again told by Gabriel to remain “calm.” However, the midfielder fired back with a final insult directed at Stuivenberg, stating, “He doesn’t know what the hell he is on about?”

The sequence concluded with Gabriel physically guiding his teammate away while reiterating, “Calm, hey stop, hey calm,” ensuring the focus shifted back to the second half of the London derby.
