Real Madrid has reportedly returned to the negotiating table with Vinicius Junior after the departure of manager Xabi Alonso removed a significant “obstacle” to the Brazilian’s long-term future at the Bernabéu.
Despite a year of stalled progress and a strained relationship with Alonso—who was described as a “negative factor” in previous discussions—the club aims to secure a renewal before the superstar enters the final year of his contract in 2027.
However, substantial hurdles remain; Vinicius Jr’s camp is reportedly holding out for a record €30 million ($34.6 million) annual salary, while his dip in form, totaling just six goals this season, has led to “non-existent” progress in talks and audible frustration from the home crowd.
New manager Álvaro Arbeloa has pledged his full support to the winger, though the club has yet to bridge the gap between their €20 million offer and the player’s demands for an additional €10 million in bonuses.
