Arsenal make Champions League history following 3-1 Inter win

Arsenal secured a club-record seventh consecutive European win by defeating Inter Milan 3-1 to remain top of the Champions League standings.

Arsenal made Champions League history on Tuesday night with a dominant 3-1 victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro.

The win marks the first time the club has ever recorded seven consecutive victories in a UEFA competition.

Mikel Arteta’s side maintained their perfect European record this season, adding the Italian giants to a list of scalps that already includes Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.

Gabriel Jesus spearheaded the attack, opening the scoring in the 10th minute before restoring the lead with a close-range header following Petar Sucic’s equalizer.

Viktor Gyokeres sealed the historic result six minutes from time with a stunning finish. This clinical performance saw the Gunners reach 21 points, comfortably placing them at the top of the Champions League standings with one league-phase game remaining.

Boasting 20 goals scored and only two conceded across their seven wins, Arsenal have firmly established themselves as tournament favorites.

The North London side, who are also currently leading the Premier League, will look to finish the league phase perfect when they face Kairat next Wednesday.

Having never won the Champions League, their current record-breaking momentum suggests a serious challenge for the trophy.
