FC Barcelona is poised to lose rising La Masia talent Dro Fernandez to Paris Saint-Germain after the youngster was personally recruited by former Blaugrana manager Luis Enrique.
Following a reported meeting in the Catalan capital, Fernandez was “seduced” by a sporting project Enrique deemed “unrejectable,” leading the attacker to inform Hansi Flick of his intent to leave via his $7 million (€6 million) release clause.
The move comes amid growing frustration from Flick, who recently issued a public warning to academy players by stating, “If you want to play at Barca, then it’s 100% with your whole heart. You have to live for Barca colours. All the others, I do not want.”
Despite an impressive Champions League debut earlier this season, Fernandez reportedly felt his path to the first team was permanently blocked by established stars like Gavi and Dani Olmo, prompting his decision to join the reigning Champions League holders in France.
