Jadon Sancho aims a dig at Man United coaches following first Villa goal

Jadon Sancho netted his first goal for Aston Villa on Thursday, securing a 1-0 victory over Fenerbahce and propelling Unai Emery’s side into the Europa League last 16 with a game to spare.

Following his 25th-minute header in Istanbul, the 25-year-old winger—currently on loan from Manchester United—appeared to critique his treatment at Old Trafford, where he was sidelined under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim.

Expressing his rejuvenation under Emery’s guidance, Sancho told TNT Sports, “It’s nice to have a manager who backs you and obviously believes in you. Again, every opportunity I get, I’m going to try and do 100 per cent, and hopefully I can deliver more goals.”

While his parent club holds an extension option on his contract through 2026, Sancho remains focused on his current form at Villa Park, admitting,

“Honestly, I know I can do a lot more. I’m very hard on myself in that aspect. But again, I’m very grateful that I got my first goal for Aston Villa and I hope it continues.”
