Brazilian veteran Dani Alves is set to return to professional football after finalizing documentation to register as a player for Sporting Clube São João de Ver in Portugal’s third division.
In a unique move, Alves has purchased the club’s SAD (a sporting share company similar to Brazil’s SAF), meaning “ele será dono e jogador” (he will be owner and player) for the remainder of the campaign.
His current contract is slated to run through June with an option for an additional season, serving as a final playing chapter before he transitions into management, having already obtained his “licença A da UEFA.”
