Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick has called for restraint and humility within his squad after securing consecutive victories against Manchester City and Arsenal to move the club into the Champions League places.
Following the dramatic 3-2 win at the Emirates, Carrick emphasized the importance of maintaining a calm demeanor and building long-term routines rather than succumbing to the “we’re gonna win the league” hype from the traveling supporters.
Speaking on the team’s immediate future, the 44-year-old manager stated, “I don’t think we can look too far ahead. We certainly won’t be anyway. We’ll finish where we finish by the results we get.”
While acknowledging the emotional boost of the recent results, Carrick reminded his players that such success “doesn’t just come easy,” insisting they must “be humble enough to understand how we could just achieve these two big results” as they shift their focus toward next week’s fixture against Fulham.
