Despite the Gunners’ search for midfield cover following Mikel Merino’s injury, Howe clarified there was “no intention from our side to lose Sandro at all.”

Agent Giuseppe Riso supported these claims, labeling reports of Arsenal discussions as “nonsense” and stating Newcastle never considered a January departure.
Howe emphasized the Italian’s commitment ahead of a crucial Carabao Cup clash against Manchester City, noting, “He is very happy here, loves playing for Newcastle and loves the city.”
