Former Chelsea captain John Terry has criticized Arsenal’s “excessive” celebrations following their Carabao Cup semi-final victory, suggesting the reaction stems from the immense pressure of their current title charge.
Chelsea legend John Terry has hit out at Arsenal’s post-match conduct on TikTok, claiming the Gunners overreacted to reaching the Carabao Cup final.
Despite Arsenal’s dominance in the Premier League this season, Terry argued that the level of jubilation was disproportionate to the competition’s prestige.
He noted, “I just want to talk on Arsenal’s celebrations after, let’s not forget it’s the carabao cup.”
Terry suggested the exuberant scenes revealed cracks in the squad’s composure under the spotlight. He remarked, “They celebrated far too much for me, I think that just shows the pressure on them at the moment.”
While acknowledging they have been the “best team so far,” he reminded fans “it certainly wasn’t the champions league final you’ve qualified to, it’s the carabao cup final.”
