Tolu Arokodare sends message to Wolves news boys after Chelsea loss

Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare praised the “exceptional” debuts of Angel Gomes and Adam Armstrong while lamenting the defensive errors and “easy” penalties that handed Chelsea a 3-1 victory at Molineux.

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare has lauded the immediate impact of January arrivals Angel Gomes and Adam Armstrong following their debuts against Chelsea.

Despite a frustrating 3-1 home loss, Arokodare highlighted the duo’s seamless integration into the squad.

Gomes provided midfield stability while Armstrong’s headed flick assisted Arokodare’s goal, though defensive lapses and two clinical penalties from Cole Palmer ultimately decided the contest.

“I think we all saw them today – they were both exceptional. That shows the quality they bring to the team,” Arokodare noted.

Reflecting on the “unlucky” spot-kicks that derailed the match, he added: “I think the first penalty was pretty easy. It was just a slight touch, but the ref knows best.” Wolves now look to build on a more compact second-half performance.
