The teenager joined the French giants on loan in January specifically to develop under the Italian tactician.
However, with De Zerbi gone, fans fear the move is now counterproductive. One supporter tweeted: “With De Zerbi leaving Marseille, you have to call back Nwaneri, surely.”
Despite the outcry, Arsenal faces a significant hurdle as reports suggest the deal lacks a recall clause. Without this provision, the Gunners cannot unilaterally end the loan, and Marseille is unlikely to agree to a mid-season exit without a replacement.
Another fan urged: “Might as well recall Nwaneri. Mikel Merino is out, so it makes sense. No time to waste, please.”
