Thomas Tuchel is set to extend his contract as England manager until 2028, ending Manchester United’s hopes of luring him to Old Trafford after the World Cup.

The move delivers a significant blow to Manchester United, who had identified the German as a top target for the 2026/27 season.
Since his 2024 appointment, Tuchel has excelled, guiding the Three Lions to World Cup qualification with eight wins and eight clean sheets.
​The FA is anticipated to confirm the deal before the upcoming Nations League draw. While United continue their search for a permanent successor to support interim boss Michael Carrick, Tuchel remains committed to the national side.
