Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella faces a month on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, potentially missing several key Premier League matches and a Champions League knockout tie.
Chelsea have been dealt a significant setback as Marc Cucurella is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks with a hamstring injury.
The 27-year-old defender sustained the issue during Tuesday’s draw with Leeds United and subsequently missed the club’s FA Cup victory over Hull City.
Manager Liam Rosenior confirmed the problem, stating: “He has a hamstring problem. I can’t give you a return timeframe right now.”
The Spaniard’s absence comes at a critical juncture as the Blues enter a demanding stretch of Premier League fixtures against Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Newcastle.
If his recovery extends to the full month, Cucurella could also miss Chelsea’s upcoming Champions League round of 16 clash in mid-March.
Jorrel Hato is expected to continue deputizing at left-back while the Spanish international undergoes rehabilitation.
