Barcelona presidential candidate Víctor Font has accused incumbent Joan Laporta of defaming his campaign and harming the club’s reputation ahead of the upcoming election on March 15th.
Víctor Font has intensified his presidential campaign, accusing Joan Laporta of “manipulation of reality” regarding the club’s legal scandals.
Font labeled Laporta’s tenure as “the Barça of the past,” specifically citing the Negreira case as a failure of transparency.
He argued that the fans are the true victims of recent malpractice, stating, “Either we end the malpractice or Barça will remain in danger.”
Laporta previously dismissed Font’s criticisms as part of an institutional smear campaign orchestrated by rivals.
However, Font insists that professional management is the only way to restore the club’s values. Aiming for victory in the one-on-one race, Font declared,
“The honest, transparent, professional Barça, led by its people, begins on the 15th,” while calling for voting restrictions to be lifted for club members.
