Patrice Evra backs former Barcelona boss to lead Manchester United revival

Manchester United legend Patrice Evra has identified Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique as the ideal candidate to become the club’s next permanent manager, citing his tactical brilliance and recent European success as essential for the Red Devils.

Patrice Evra has urged Manchester United’s board to pursue Luis Enrique as the long-term successor to Ruben Amorim.

Evra praised Enrique’s ability to win the Champions League with PSG last season without high-profile stars like Kylian Mbappé or Neymar, labeling him a “dream coach.”

He believes Enrique’s disciplined philosophy is exactly what the current squad needs to return to elite status.

While supporting interim boss Michael Carrick, who has guided United to third in the Premier League, Evra dismissed criticism from former teammates like Paul Scholes and Gary Neville.

He argued that their negative analysis is unhelpful, noting, “Most of these guys get a managerial job and get fired straightaway.”

Evra remains adamant that while Carrick deserves an opportunity, Enrique represents the world-class tactical “genius” required for a permanent appointment.
