Jamie Carragher has warned Chelsea that they will never win major trophies until they address persistent issues in goal following their 5-2 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Jamie Carragher insists Chelsea cannot challenge for Premier League or Champions League titles without signing a top-tier goalkeeper.
Speaking to CBS Sports, he criticized Filip Jorgensen’s decisive error during the 5-2 loss to PSG. “They can’t go any further until they sort the goalkeeping issue out,” Carragher claimed.
He argued that despite Liam Rosenior’s tactical brilliance, individual mistakes are undermining the club’s expensive rebuild.
The pundit emphasized that Chelsea were “tactically fantastic” and did not deserve such a heavy scoreline.
However, he noted that the game “completely unravelled” after Jorgensen’s second-half blunder.
Carragher concluded that the current goalkeeping situation remains a “million miles off” the standard required for elite success, potentially ending their European hopes this season regardless of the quality of their attacking players.
