Chelsea’s Pedro Neto faces UEFA disciplinary action after incident with PSG Ball Boy

UEFA has launched official disciplinary proceedings against Chelsea’s Pedro Neto after the winger shoved a ball boy during his side’s Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

UEFA confirmed disciplinary proceedings against Pedro Neto for unsporting conduct following Wednesday’s match in Paris.

The forward pushed a ball boy while attempting to retrieve the ball, triggering a late confrontation.

Despite escaping a red card during play, Neto now faces potential sanctions under Article 15 of UEFA’s regulations. “UEFA’s disciplinary bodies will make a decision on this case in due course,” the governing body announced.

Neto issued a public apology after the 5-2 loss, claiming the incident occurred in the “heat of the moment.”

The winger reportedly met the youngster afterward, offering his shirt as a peace gesture.

“I said sorry like 35 times. I’m really sorry about that and the situation,” Neto told TNT Sports. Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior must now wait to see if Neto faces a suspension.
