Rasmus Hojlund heading to permanent Old Trafford exit as Napoli chief speaks out

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has announced the club’s intent to exercise their €44m purchase option for Rasmus Hojlund, ending the Danish striker’s three-year tenure with Manchester United following a successful loan spell in Italy.

​Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has confirmed the club intends to sign Rasmus Hojlund on a permanent basis from Manchester United this summer.

Hojlund, who joined Antonio Conte’s side on loan after the arrival of Benjamin Sesko at Old Trafford, has impressed in Serie A with 13 goals.

“There are no doubts, Hojlund will stay here,” Manna stated, signaling the end of the forward’s Premier League career.

​The deal includes a €44m obligation to buy should Napoli secure Champions League qualification, a goal they are currently on track to achieve.

However, Manna clarified that the club plans to retain the 23-year-old regardless of the final standings.

He noted, “We have an obligation to buy from Man Utd, if Napoli qualify for Champions League, but he is in our plans despite this condition.”
