AC Milan icon Andriy Shevchenko has declared his full confidence in manager Massimiliano Allegri’s leadership after returning to the club’s training ground for the first time in five years.
Milan legend Andriy Shevchenko made an emotional return to Milanello on Thursday, praising head coach Massimiliano Allegri for revitalizing the squad’s spirit.
The Ukrainian striker, visiting during the World Legends Padel Tour, admitted the homecoming stirred deep feelings.
“It was beautiful, I felt something in my stomach,” Shevchenko told Sky Sport, adding that Allegri “genuinely makes me believe Milan can do it” in the title race.
Shevchenko also lauded veteran Luka Modric for his leadership and humility since arriving at the San Siro.
While he expressed optimism regarding the team’s current trajectory, he remained cautious about Rafael Leão’s tactical adaptation to a new role.
“He has been very willing to respond to the manager’s requests,” Shevchenko noted, “but it will take time to know if the role truly fits him.”
