Chelsea’s leadership is reportedly debating the future of manager Liam Rosenior following a critical home loss to Newcastle that jeopardizes their Champions League qualification.
Chelsea officials are reportedly considering dismissing Liam Rosenior just two months after his appointment.
Despite an initial burst of seven wins, a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle has left the Blues sixth in the Premier League.
Concerns are mounting regarding his long-term suitability for the project. Rosenior admitted a “tactical issue” caused the decisive goal, adding: “Mistakes happen. They had nothing in the game and we gave them a goal.”
The hierarchy remains divided on whether to seek stability or make another change before the season concludes.
With only eight games remaining, Chelsea sit two points adrift of the top four. Defending his team’s recent form despite consecutive losses, Rosenior insisted:
“It was a really difficult day, a frustrating day, because we didn’t get the result that we want. But I still think there’s a consistency in our performances.”
