Cesc Fabregas has criticized Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini for refusing to shake hands following Como’s dramatic 2-1 victory, which moved the promoted side into the Serie A top four.
Cesc Fabregas blasted Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini for a post-match snub after Como’s crucial 2-1 win on Sunday.
The victory propelled the second-year Serie A side to fourth place, heightening their Champions League dreams.
Fabregas expressed his disappointment, stating: “Whether I’m angry, sent off, or feel the referee has wronged me, at the end of the match I always go to shake my opponent’s hand.”
Gasperini defended his actions by accusing Como of poor conduct during the heated encounter. Roma were particularly incensed by a second-half red card that shifted the momentum in the visitors’ favor.
Unrepentant, Gasperini countered the Spaniard’s claims by saying: “Como is a strong team, but I don’t respect their behavior, on the pitch or on the bench.” Fabregas remains focused on a potential Coppa Italia semi-final.
