Bruno Fernandes has surpassed Sir David Beckham’s record for the most assists by a Manchester United player in a single Premier League season, with club legends praising Michael Carrick’s tactical shift for unlocking the captain’s world-class form.

Bruno Fernandes made history during United’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa, reaching 16 Premier League assists to eclipse David Beckham’s 1999/00 milestone.

Paul Scholes credited head coach Michael Carrick for the resurgence, noting, “Michael’s put him in the right position.”

Now operating as a traditional No.10, Fernandes is just five assists away from shattering the all-time Premier League record held by Thierry Henry.

Nicky Butt issued a stern warning regarding the captain’s future amid previous interest from Saudi Arabia, stating, “Man Utd cannot let him go. Give him anything he wants to keep him.”

Beckham himself offered congratulations to the “special player” on social media. With eight games remaining, Fernandes is firmly in contention for Premier League Player of the Year as United chase Champions League qualification.
