Igor Tudor slammed for post match snub despite UCL win

Interim coach Igor Tudor faced backlash after walking straight down the tunnel following Tottenham’s 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid, failing to acknowledge the home supporters.

Former Tottenham midfielder Andy Reid slammed interim boss Igor Tudor for his “unnecessary” decision to exit the pitch immediately after Wednesday’s victory.

Although Spurs won 3-2, they were eliminated from the Champions League 7-5 on aggregate.

Despite the improved display, Tudor avoided the traditional lap of appreciation, opting to storm toward the dressing room while his players remained on the turf to applaud the crowd.

Reid argued Tudor missed a vital chance to build rapport ahead of Sunday’s relegation battle.

“I thought it was a bit unnecessary from Tudor [to walk straight through the tunnel],” Reid told BBC Radio 5 Live.

The Croatian later praised the atmosphere, stating: “It was really nice that the fans recognised that the team did everything they could do. They were with us from the start.”
