Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has confirmed that an internal investigation successfully identified an external “mole” responsible for leaking the club’s tactical setups and starting XIs ahead of both legs of their Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain.
Liam Rosenior revealed that Chelsea has dealt with the individual responsible for leaking team news to the French media.
The breach saw the Blues’ starting lineups published hours before kick-off in both legs of their 8-2 aggregate defeat to PSG.
Rosenior clarified that the source was not a player and acted without “malicious intent,” though the leaks notably stripped the London side of any tactical surprise.
The investigation followed significant dressing room unrest after journalist Fabrice Hawkins accurately posted Rosenior’s selection decisions, including the surprise inclusion of goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen.
While the manager previously prioritized the match results over the security breach, he confirmed on Friday that the situation is now resolved.
“We know where it’s come from and we’ve dealt with the situation,” Rosenior stated, aiming to end the distractions.
