Manchester United are set to lodge a formal complaint with PGMOL over inconsistent officiating and VAR failures following a controversial 2-2 draw with Bournemouth that saw Amad Diallo denied a penalty and Harry Maguire sent off.
Manchester United will formally complain to PGMOL today following a contentious 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.
The club is “furious” after Amad Diallo was denied a second-half penalty despite being “clearly wrestled to the ground” by Adrien Truffert.
Officials are reportedly incensed that VAR failed to intervene, especially as the non-call allowed Bournemouth to immediately break and score their first equalizer of the night.
Further anger stems from the perceived inconsistency of referee Stuart Attwell. United argue a similar incident later led to Harry Maguire being sent off and conceding the decisive penalty.
Interim manager Michael Carrick branded the officiating “baffling,” while the club remains unhappy with the nine minutes of added time.
“If you’ve already given one… then surely the next one should be a straightforward one,” Carrick stated.
