Cristian Romero issued a scathing assessment of his team’s performance following a 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, leaving the North London club just one point above the Premier League relegation zone.
Tottenham captain Cristian Romero admitted his side must stop conceding “stupid” goals after a devastating 3-0 home loss to Nottingham Forest.
Despite recent continental success, Spurs crumbled in the second half, leaving them languishing in seventeenth place.
Acknowledging the crisis, Romero stated, “The first half was good but in the second half we lose confidence, lose the ball, concede another stupid goal.”
The defeat heaps pressure on manager Igor Tudor, who was absent post-match due to a family bereavement.
Assistant Bruno Saltor defended the players’ efforts but conceded that minor errors are proving fatal.
With only seven games remaining, Romero urged the squad to treat every match as a final, noting, “Now, everyone goes to their national teams… when we’re back here understand the situation is tough.”
