Teenage forward Dro Fernandez scored his first goal for Paris Saint-Germain during a 4-0 victory over Nice, a strike that also marked the French champions’ 100th goal of the season.
Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique lavished praise on 18-year-old Dro Fernandez following his milestone strike in Sunday’s 4-0 win at Nice.
The Spanish forward, a January signing from Barcelona, netted his first goal for the club in his seventh appearance.
The victory allowed PSG to leapfrog Lens and reclaim the Ligue 1 summit, heading into the final international break with a one-point lead.
Luis Enrique highlighted the importance of the goal for the youngster’s confidence as the club enters a decisive period of the campaign.
He told Ligue 1+, “At 18 years old, scoring your first goal is important. I am very happy.”
Fernandez, unaware his effort was the team’s 100th this term, added: “The coach showed his confidence in me, I’m happy to have scored.”
