Liverpool have confirmed that club legend Mohamed Salah will depart Anfield as a free agent at the end of the season, concluding a historic nine-year tenure that saw him become the club’s highest-paid player.
Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah is set to leave the club on a free transfer this summer following an agreement to terminate his contract early.
Despite signing a two-year extension last year, both parties settled on an exit after an “underwhelming” campaign.
His representative, Ramy Abbas Issa, stated on Tuesday, “We do not know where Mohamed will play next season. This also means that no one else knows.”
The Egyptian’s departure marks the end of a “remarkable” era, during which he earned a record £400,000 per week.
While the Saudi Pro League remains a likely destination to potentially replace Cristiano Ronaldo, Salah remains focused on the current season.
The club noted, “Salah expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to provide transparency about his future.”
