Alejandro Garnacho caught speeding away from Manchester United training ground

Alejandro Garnacho has been fined and handed license points after admitting to speeding near Manchester United’s training ground shortly before his high-profile transfer.

Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho has been convicted of speeding after being caught driving 50mph in a 40mph zone near Manchester United’s Carrington training base.

The incident occurred last August, just four days before his £40 million move to London.

Appearing at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court, the 21-year-old admitted to the offence through his lawyers, expressing that he was “embarrassed” by the oversight.

Garnacho was handed a £660 fine and three points on his licence. His legal team stated, “Mr Garnacho accepts that he committed the offence of exceeding the speed limit and has pleaded guilty to the offence.”

The winger, who fell out of favour under Ruben Amorim before his exit, has since made 36 appearances for Chelsea, scoring seven goals during his debut season.
