While the captain previously suggested a departure within “one or two years,” Martinez remains cautious about making predictions.
He told reporters: “I have learned very quickly not to predict the future with Cristiano. He has got this elite brain about being the best he can be today.”
Despite a minor soft tissue injury, Ronaldo remains central to Martinez’s tactical plans heading toward the World Cup.
The manager praised his captain’s enduring influence and goalscoring instincts, noting that his recovery is on track for next week.
Reflecting on the veteran’s longevity and daily dedication, Martinez added: “His mindset is quite inspiring… You don’t know when is going to be the end.”
