Manchester United manager Michael Carrick could be handed a significant triple injury boost ahead of Monday’s clash with Leeds United, as Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Patrick Dorgu all target a return to action.
The Red Devils are aiming to solidify their Champions League ambitions during a crucial seven-game run-in.
While Harry Maguire serves a suspension, Carrick is optimistic that several first-team stars will recover from recent setbacks.
Attacking threats Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo are expected to feature after skipping international duty as a “precaution,” providing much-needed firepower for the high-stakes encounter at Old Trafford.
Defensive reinforcements are also on the horizon, with Lisandro Martinez and Patrick Dorgu nearing fitness.
However, Matthijs de Ligt remains a long-term absentee with a persistent back issue.
Regarding Martinez’s recovery, Carrick noted the defender is “closer, a lot closer,” while expressing hope that Dorgu can overcome a hamstring injury to play a part in the vital Monday night fixture.
