Kylian Mbappé has become only the seventh player in history to score 14 goals in a single Champions League campaign following his strike against Bayern Munich.
Kylian Mbappé etched his name further into football history during Real Madrid’s 2-1 quarter-final loss to Bayern Munich.
By scoring a vital 74th-minute goal, the Frenchman reached 14 strikes in the current European campaign. He joins an exclusive club including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
This milestone marks only the ninth time a player has reached this specific landmark in a single season.
The 27-year-old now boasts 69 career goals in the competition, placing him sixth in the all-time rankings. Mbappé is currently just three goals shy of matching Ronaldo’s record of 17 in a single season.
As Madrid prepares for the return leg in Bavaria, the talisman remains the focal point for a potential comeback, with fans hoping he can “further cement his legacy in the record books.”
