Real Madrid manager Alvaro Arbeloa faces a tactical selection headache for the Champions League second leg after Aurelien Tchouameni was ruled out through a controversial suspension.
Real Madrid head coach Alvaro Arbeloa has described Aurelien Tchouameni’s looming absence for the quarter-final return leg as “important.”
The Frenchman picked up a decisive booking during Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to Bayern Munich, a decision the player called “honestly” incomprehensible.
Arbeloa now faces a dilemma over the holding role, with Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos under consideration to fill the void at the Allianz Arena.
Jude Bellingham is expected to return to the starting lineup after a hamstring injury limited him to a substitute appearance.
Arbeloa defended his cautious management of the Englishman, stating, “I wish he could have played 90 minutes with Bellingham since I became coach.”
The manager remains confident in his depth, adding, “We’ll have time to think about who plays. We have reliable options.”
