Arsenal start reign as champions with routine win at Palace

Newly crowned Premier League champions Arsenal signed off their league campaign in style with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Gabriel Jesus finally broke the deadlock after missing earlier chances before Noni Madueke doubled Arsenal’s lead just after halftime. Jean-Philippe Mateta grabbed a late consolation for Palace, but the day belonged to the Gunners and their travelling fans.

According to the BBC, the atmosphere felt more like a celebration than a tense league clash, with Arsenal officially beginning life as champions after ending their 22-year wait for the title. Teen midfielder Max Dowman also made history, becoming the youngest player ever to start a Premier League match at just 16 years old.
