Thomas Partey has been included in Ghana national football team’s provisional 28-man World Cup squad despite facing rape and sexual assault charges in the UK.
The Villarreal CF midfielder has pleaded not guilty to seven rape counts and one sexual assault charge. His trial at Southwark Crown Court could now be delayed until early 2027.
Under his bail conditions, Partey must notify authorities before travelling abroad.
