Barcelona are stepping up their chase for Julián Álvarez after sealing a deal for Anthony Gordon, ESPN reports.
The Spanish champions believe the Atlético Madrid striker prefers a move to Camp Nou over interest from Arsenal and PSG. Barça chiefs have already held talks with the Argentine forward’s camp as Hansi Flick looks to reshape his attack.
Álvarez, who scored 20 goals this season, could cost over €100m, with Atlético unwilling to let him go cheaply. PSG boss Luis Enrique is also pushing hard for the former Manchester City striker, while Arsenal remain in the mix.
Barcelona hope the player’s desire to join them could prove decisive in the transfer battle.
