Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League victory celebrations descended into chaos, with more than 400 people arrested across France after clashes erupted between fans and police.
Thousands flooded the streets following PSG’s dramatic penalty-shootout win over Arsenal, but scenes quickly turned ugly as flares lit up the sky, vehicles were torched and shopfronts damaged.
Police deployed tear gas to disperse crowds, while transport services in Paris faced major disruptions. Authorities said seven officers were injured and 416 arrests were made, including 280 in the capital.
Despite the unrest, Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said security forces were better prepared than during last year’s celebrations. PSG players are still expected to parade the trophy through Paris, including a reception with President Emmanuel Macron.
