Andoni Iraola, former Bournemouth manager, has signed a two-year contract with Liverpool. This move contrasts with the trend of long-term deals in the Premier League. Iraola prefers shorter contracts, believing his tenure should be based on mutual happiness rather than financial security. He stated, “I want to continue because both sides are happy and they want to continue together.”
Iraola is not motivated by the financial assurance of long contracts, explaining, “To sign a contract just to have the assurance that if they sack you, you have the money no – I don’t feel pleased with this.” He sees each year as a renewal of confidence, influenced by managers like Marcelo Bielsa.
