Macclesfield FC Owner Suspended After Arrest
Macclesfield FC co-owner Robert Smethurst has been suspended following his arrest on May 19th for a suspected coercive control offense in Wilmslow, Cheshire. The 48-year-old confirmed his arrest to the BBC, calling the allegations “an absolute load of rubbish.” He has been bailed pending further enquiries, with the club temporarily relieving him of all duties.
