Antonio Nusa broke the deadlock in the 39th minute with a brilliant solo effort, according to The Athletic, before Amad Diallo levelled things up for Ivory Coast in the 74th with a composed finish.
The tie stayed level for just 12 minutes before Erling Haaland pounced in the 86th, bundling home what proved the winner. Goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland then denied Diallo a stoppage-time equaliser with a crucial save to seal the result.
Norway advance to face Brazil in the Round of 16, while Ivory Coast bow out after their first World Cup knockout outing, The Athletic reported.
